Four seasons to get to know Martigues!

>> IN THE HEAT OF THE SUMMER

The Nautical Pass, gives you reductions on more than 30 water sports and other sporting activities in the context of the Martigues Station Nautique label!
Mountain bike, canoeing, diving (initiation or exploration), sculling, sailing, windsurfing, fishing from the bank or beach
Available to all those stopping overnight in the town between 1st July and 31st August, on request, free of charge, at the Tourist Office reception desk.

The Local Production and Heritage Day
A fixed-price menu including local dishes in the restaurants which are partners for this operation, and a guided tour of the town to learn about its cultural and gastronomic heritage.
From the 1st July to the 31st August

Events related to the sea coast:
The Coastal Path : a guided tour, with a representative of Sensibilisation Protection Nature (an environmental protection association), of the beach at Bonnieu and of the quarry in Baoutailla on the basis of the following themes: land and sea ecology, geology, archaeology, history and human activities.
From the 1st July to the 31st August
Exploratory fishing in La Salabre : finding out about the sea creatures in the port of Carro which is unusual in that both the species endemic to ports and species fished out in the sea removed from the nets by fishermen are present. Another feature of this activity is a look at the stalls at the fish market.

The Town Council Greenhouses: A guided tour with technicians from the Parks and Gardens Department to see the production of flowers for decorating the town of Martigues, which has the national floral decoration championship approval since 1996.

The Sea Park : guided surface tour of the sea reserve in Carry-le-Rouet with a mask and a snorkel - exploration of the wealth of the coastal sea floor and informing those who spend time on the Côte Bleue of the role and importance of a protected coastal area.

The Semaphore : young and old finding out about one of the most unusual jobs in the Navy - the semaphore, permanently on watch, participates in the system of coastal defence and protection by monitoring commercial, fishing and yachting sea traffic and also keeping a watch for forest fires and permanent meteorological observations for Météo France. (National and local weather forecasts)

>> DURING OUR BLOOMING SPRINGTIME

Carnival « Oreillettes » (cakes made from thin strips of doughnut batter) : come and learn how to make the traditional Provençal oreillettes, which you can eat after the traditional procession.

Go hiking on the Customs Officers’ Path on the Côte Bleue, from creeks to rocky inlets, with a superb view of the Mediterranean and the e Marseilles cove.

>> IN THE MELLOWNESS OF AUTUMN

The shows Provence Prestige and Noël Artisanal (Christmas Crafts)
A real " must " concerning the art of living in Provence : a show in Arles and Martigues with150 exhibitors from various parts of Provence with visits to workshops, courses, and conferences in the department. In Martigues, a gastronomic course directed by a starred head chef.

The Walk under the Lights: an easy, friendly walk through the town with its Christmas lights for everyone, with a running commentary giving both tourist and historical information and also technical information (about the installation of the lights and the choice of themes) during the walk.

Allo Visit (further information) : a walk with a running commentary by mobile ‘phone to learn the history of the Venice of Provence in a simple and lively way, whenever you want, with 7 " lessons ", each with a commentary about 4 minutes long.
